I happened across some odd movie props to add to the collection. Take a look…

It seems like this helmet project is moving so quickly. It must be because I am not doing the work on it. I like “working” on things like this.

dsc001061

We started cutting the Kashyyk Helmet parts. We will get into assembly within the next few days. So far so good! The parts will be glued together, sanded and seams will be filled.

We CNC’d the Kashyyk Backplate this weekend. We had to use two different types of foam due to our shipment not showing up. Ugh. Anyway, it wasn’t so bad. Of course, we still have sanding and minor shaping to do before we fill and seal the foam.

We’ve finished most of the models for the vacuum form bucks for the Kashyyk armor. Things are starting to move quickly. You should see some serious progress by this weekend.

A while back, we started 3D modeling the Kashyyk Trooper in an attempt to get as accurate of a depiction
as possible. This is the model so far. We’ve had to adjust the model from what we thought was accurate to what will be functional. Apparently, the goggles sit too high for a human head. You would not be able to see out if we don’t drop the goggles

After getting the file to a point where we feel comfortable calling it done, we went ahead and cnc’d it from foam.

I put the Jango costume on the mannequin today to see how it looks so far.  Not bad. Fantastic work on all items. Cruzer made some seriously baddass armor. Ammo Belt by Seeker. Holster belt by Cruzer. Girth belt by Imperial Outfitters. Jumpsuit by Jedi’s Closet. Vest by Imperial Outfitters.

Some serious weathering and armor attachment and I think we are there.

R2 Test Drive

By postmortem01 · Comments (0)

This is the first time we’ve had one of our R2s running. This turned out to be a test of the drive train as well as the RC control. Everything went very well and now it’s only a matter of working out the bugs.
